On May 8th 1970, The
Comedian pub was opened on St Ann's Road, Eastwood, named in honor of
Sandy 'Can You Hear Me Mother' Powell, and rightly so, Sandy pulled the
first pint.
The outside sign for
the pub was a caricature of the Rotherham comedian, pictured.
